Summer Internship

When and where?

The Summer internship will take place at The Strength House in Harvard, MA with start dates between May 12 and 19. Interns should be prepared to arrange housing and have a reliable mode of transportation.

What can I expect?

Interns can expect a hands on learning experience. As an intern at The Strength House you will share similar responsibilities to our staff. Including coaching athletes through warm ups, and the day’s training. Most importantly you will be immersed in our unique approach to preparing athletes for success on the field / court.

Interns can also expect to help maintain the organization and cleanliness of the facility.

Formal educational “in-services” will be held once a week, as well as on going personal mentorship.

Interns can expect to be held to a high level of professionalism. By applying to this internship you should be prepared to work a minimum of 25 hours per week. Summer hours will primarily take place in the morning / afternoon, although there will be afternoon and evening hours required until the end of high school. The facility will be open during off hours for staff to utilize for their own workouts. Expect a high energy atmosphere, where we get a lot done and we have a lot of fun doing it. This is an unpaid internship.

Who will we work with?

The Summer period will allow you to gain experience with early teenage through college athletes. Many of our athletes are baseball players, but you will also work with other sports, and many multi sport athletes.

What are the requirements?

The ideal candidate is a self motivated individual, with strong personal communication skills. They should be a self starter who can make the most of this opportunity. Coaches at TSH willingly spend time outside the facility working on their craft. They continually push themselves to further their understanding of the many components that comprise human performance. They have an organized approach to their own life, in order to set an example for the athletes they work with. Our goal is to be the BEST facility in New England, and individuals that work here share that goal.

Candidates with relative coaching experience, and who have obtained a degree in a related field will be most strongly considered. Existing knowledge of human anatomy, exercise physiology, and biomechanics is preferred.

How do I apply?

Applications will be considered on a first come first serve basis. Accepted candidates will be notified by April 1st, if not sooner.
